The Brighton Cardinals lost against the Arlington Tigers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Brighton fell 55-42 to Arlington. Brighton has not had much luck with Arlington recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Brighton saw an underclassman step up: Jayla Jones scored 25 points. Jones continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Mariah Maclin was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Brighton has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Arlington, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.
Brighton and Riverside will round out the year against one another at 3:00 p.m. on December 28th at. Riverside comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Arlington, they will take on Hamilton at 1:00 p.m. on December 28th. Hopefully Hamilton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Tuesday.
