The Piper Bengals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Taravella by a score of 51-48. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Piper in their matchups with Taravella: they've now lost four in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Taravella to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jeffrey Smith, who scored 13 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Andres Demoya, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds.
Piper's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Taravella, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Piper will take on Plantation at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Taravella, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Coral Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
