The Bear Grass Charter Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Pasquotank County 45-25. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Bear Grass Charter also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Carolina Harrell was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 16 points. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Callee Perry, who scored a points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
Anylah Bowe and Veychara Eley certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Bowe dropped a triple-double on ten points, 16 rebounds, and 15 blocks, while Eley scored six points along with six rebounds. Bowe scored a full 40% of Pasquotank County's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Bear Grass Charter now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Pasquotank County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Bear Grass Charter will be playing at home against Arendell Parrott Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Arendell Parrott Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Pasquotank County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hertford County at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Hopefully Hertford County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Thursday.
