Volleyball Recap: Amphitheater Has No Trouble Against Catalina

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Walden Grove, Amphitheater was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Catalina Trojans 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won five in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Amphitheater was: they took every set by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-10, 25-10.

Kayla Tuakalau paced Amphitheater's offense, picking up five kills. Tuakalau got some help from Isabella Espinoza and her 11 assists. Espinoza was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

The victory got Amphitheater back to even at 3-3. As for Catalina, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Amphitheater has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Desert Sunrise on the 11th. As for Catalina, they will head out to square off against Palo Verde at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
