  Alison Nikolaus was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  struck out nine batters over  five innings while giving up  three earned runs off   five  hits. Nikolaus was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Emma Shaw, who  went 3-for-4 with five  RBI, two  runs,  and a  stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Dalila Romero, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
 The  victory  got East back to even at 5-5. As for Brighton, their record is now 7-12.
 Tuesday's   game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. East has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .615. However, it's not like Brighton struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .453. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
