Despite the loss, Ellsworth still got an impressive performance from Patrick Puroll, who scored 12 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Puroll hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Evincio LaCount was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
St. Mary Cathedral has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Ellsworth, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Mary Cathedral will face off against Onaway at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Onaway is coming into the contest with three straight wins at home, meaning St. Mary Cathedral will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Ellsworth, they will head out on the road to take on Wolverine at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Ellsworth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Monday.
