The Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 36-19 win over Bunn on Friday. Roanoke Rapids' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Roanoke Rapids got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kara Baird out in front who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Baird hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Shaniah Daniels, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Roanoke Rapids' victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Bunn, they bumped their record down to 1-13 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road.
Roanoke Rapids will square off against Nash Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Nash Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. As for Bunn, they will be playing at home against Warren County at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
