Softball Recap: Lone Jack Has No Trouble Against Santa Fe

Lone Jack got themselves on the board against Santa Fe on Tuesday, but Santa Fe never followed suit. They blew past the Chiefs 12-0. Considering the Mules have won six games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lone Jack let Reese Evenson and Delaney Richards run wild. Evenson went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs, while Richards went 2-for-3 with five RBI. Those four RBI gave Evenson a new career-high. Johnna Bosch also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Lone Jack always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .523 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Lone Jack's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Santa Fe, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lone Jack will challenge St. Paul Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Saints have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.82 runs per game on average), something the Mules will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Santa Fe, they will take on Orrick at 5:00 p.m. on May 1.
