Tri-Unity Christian entered their tilt with East Grand Rapids on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-58 victory over the East Grand Rapids Pioneers. Given the Defenders' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Pioneers are ranked 446th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tri-Unity Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for East Grand Rapids, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Tri-Unity Christian and West Catholic will round out the year against one another at at 8:30 p.m. on Monday. As for East Grand Rapids, they will challenge Calvary Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
