Basketball Recap: Palm Beach Lakes Piles Up the Points Against Royal Palm Beach

Palm Beach Lakes won the last time they faced Royal Palm Beach and things went their way on Monday too. The Palm Beach Lakes Rams blew past the Royal Palm Beach Wildcats 52-17. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Wildcats are ranked 338th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Palm Beach Lakes' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laniya Hall, who posted six points in addition to 18 boards and three steals. Those three steals gave Hall a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelina Jean-Charles, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Palm Beach Lakes is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points per game. As for Royal Palm Beach, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palm Beach Lakes will head out to face off against Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Royal Palm Beach, they are taking a road trip to take on Forest Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
