After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Augusta Christian, Wardlaw Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Laurens Academy Crusaders 17-5. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Patriots this season.
Brianna McNeill ( JR) was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Rese Pruett (SR) was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Taylor Hill (JR), who scored two runs and stole two bases.
