Central and Natrona County are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2016, but not for long. The Central Indians will be playing at home against the Natrona County Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Central faced East in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Central lost to East on the road by a decisive 58-41 margin. Central has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Central might have lost, but man, Izzy Kelly was a machine: she scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckay Gerig, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Natrona County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 55-22 loss at the hands of Cody. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Natrona County has scored all season.
Central's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Natrona County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
Central didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Natrona County when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 65-60 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Natrona County's Megan Hagar, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Now that she won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Central to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
