The McKinleyville Panthers won the last time they faced the St. Bernard's Crusaders, and things went their way on Friday too. It was close, but McKinleyville ultimately received the gift of a 37-34 victory from a begrudging Pantherssquad. Despite the win, that was the fewest points they have scored all season.
Flynn Creighton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Carter Eichin, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for McKinleyville and bumps their season record up to 8-4. As for St. Bernard's, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
McKinleyville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Eureka at 2:30 p.m. on December 16th. One thing working in Eureka's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests. St. Bernard's will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Clear Lake at 2:00 p.m. on December 28th.
