Summit Christian Academy enjoyed a cozy 42-25 victory over Van Horn. Given Summit Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Van Horn is ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Summit Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Mike Thomas iii, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. Thomas iii has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Rieger, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Summit Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Van Horn, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Summit Christian Academy will take on Clinton at TBD on Tuesday. As for Van Horn, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Warrensburg at 7:00 p.m.
