Hettinger/Scranton is 10-0 against Harding County since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Hettinger/Scranton Black Devils will be home for the holidays to greet the Harding County Ranchers at 8:00 p.m.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Hettinger/Scranton, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-33 loss to Lemmon.
Meanwhile, Harding County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 55-10 victory over Timber Lake at home. Fans of Harding County have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Claire Verhulst was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored ten points along with nine steals. The matchup was her third in a row with at least ten points. Bailey Verhulst was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Hettinger/Scranton's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Harding County, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.
Hettinger/Scranton barely slipped by Harding County in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 47-46. Does Hettinger/Scranton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Harding County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
