The Edinburg North Cougars can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. Everything went their way against Economedes as Edinburg North made off with a 49-23 victory. The victory was just what Edinburg North needed coming off of a 91-55 defeat in their prior contest.
Edinburg North's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Etsel Ramirez led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Roxanna Rodriguez, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Edinburg North's victory bumped their record up to 13-16. As for Economedes, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.
Edinburg North will be playing at home against La Joya at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Joya is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Economedes, they will square off against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Pharr-San Juan-Alamo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Friday.
