The Eastern Ramblers have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Cardozo Clerks at 5:30 p.m. on February 5th. Hopefully Eastern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday.
In what's become a running theme this season, Eastern gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They claimed a resounding 59-3 win over Bard at home. While fans of Eastern might be used to big wins, the 56-point margin marked the team's biggest win yet this season.
Jayme Poindexter was her usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with seven steals and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Samia Greene, who scored ten points along with five assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Cardozo, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They took a serious blow against School Without Walls on Friday, falling 52-5. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cardozo in their matchups with the Penguins: they've now lost five in a row.
Eastern is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Cardozo, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Eastern against the Clerks in their previous matchup back in January of 2022 as the squad secured a 39-6 victory. With Eastern ahead 23-3 at the half, the game was all but over already.
