The Millikan Rams scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Compton at home to the tune of 82-47. The victory was some much needed relief for Millikan as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Ryan Ocampo had an outrageously good game as he scored 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Corlin Bryant, who scored nine points.
Despite the loss, Compton still got an impressive performance from Jashon Finley, who scored 35 points along with four steals. That was a full 74.5% of Compton's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Dwayne Douglas, who scored six points.
Millikan's win ended a eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-17. As for Compton, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 17 of their last 19 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-21 record this season.
Millikan will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jackrabbits at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Long Beach Poly has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,294 points over their last 18 games. As for Compton, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Condors at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. The timing is sure in California's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while the Tarbabes have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
