The Southwest Wildcats lost against the Hardin-Central Bulldogs back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Southwest took a 48-32 bruising from Hardin-Central. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southwest in their matchups with Hardin-Central: they've now lost four in a row.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grant Warren, who scored 12 points along with seven steals. That was a full 37.5% of Southwest's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Garrett Larson was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 15 rebounds and two blocks.
Southwest's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Hardin-Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Southwest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hardin-Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Richmond at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
