Newsome is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Bloomingdale. Newsome strolled past Bloomingdale with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 28-14. The win was some much needed relief for the Wolves as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Newsome can attribute much of their success to Jaikim Haggans, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown, and Noah Guenther, who threw for 71 yards and two touchdowns.
Haggans wasn't the only one working in the rushing yards department: Newsome was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 236 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.
