Collegiate hadn't done well against Augusta recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Spartans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Orioles. The victory was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on five straight.

Carter Drumright was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddox Drumright, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Isaac Vanderburg was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Collegiate pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Augusta, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Collegiate will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Orioles: the pair will be back at it again later today.
