The Buckeye Central Bucks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 53-36 to Carey. While losing is never fun, Buckeye Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 415th, while Carey is ranked 83rd).
Carey's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rachel Reinhart led the charge by scoring 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Bursby, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Buckeye Central has fallen quite a ways from their 23-4 record last season and are now at 3-7. As for Carey, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buckeye Central will take on Upper Sandusky at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Upper Sandusky is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Carey, they will be playing at home against Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
