Arcadia is 10-0 against Chincoteague since December of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Arcadia Firebirds will host the Chincoteague Ponies at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Arcadia has three straight wins, Chincoteague has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Last Friday, everything went Arcadia's way against Worcester Prep as Arcadia made off with a 65-44 victory.

Ryhiem Pettit was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Lavar Johnson, who posted 12 points and six steals.
Arcadia smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.
Meanwhile, Chincoteague took a blow against Wicomico on Saturday, falling 81-34. While losing is never fun, the Ponies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 393rd in Virginia, while the Indians are ranked 118th in Maryland).
George Katsetos was Chincoteague's leading scorer, having posted 11 points. Camaury Davis took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with five assists.
Arcadia's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points per game. As for Chincoteague, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Arcadia has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 29.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Chincoteague struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Arcadia didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Chincoteague in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 67-61 victory. Will Arcadia repeat their success, or does Chincoteague have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
