The Cass Tech Technicians are on the road again on Saturday and play against the Southfield Arts & Tech Warriors at 1:00 p.m. on November 4th. The pair are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Cass Tech put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Glenn 35-14. The victory was just what Cass Tech needed coming off of a 48-23 defeat in their prior matchup.
Among those leading the charge was Corey Sadler jr, who rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 26 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Sadler jr's longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards. Carson Lovett was in the mix too, providing Cass Tech with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Southfield Arts & Tech stacked a fourth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 38-14 margin over Fordson. Given Southfield Arts & Tech's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Fordson is ranked 113th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cass Tech's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.3 points per game. As for Southfield Arts & Tech, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.
Cass Tech couldn't quite finish off Southfield Arts & Tech when the teams last played back in August and fell 29-27. Can Cass Tech avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
