College football isn't the only level of the sport being hit hard by the pandemic. At the high school level, No. 7 Katy (Texas)
became the third nationally-ranked team to reschedule or cancel a game this week when it moved a contest with district rival Tompkins (Katy)
to Nov. 27.
Originally set for Thursday, the Katy-Tompkins clash was pushed to Saturday and then eventually to the back end of the season in November after a COVID-19 case was identified within the Katy program.
The Tigers are 3-0 this season and coming off a 59-3 victory over Seven Lakes (Katy). Katy is among the state's most storied programs with eight state titles – including six in the 2000s – and three national crowns.
