Braiton Applegate Earns League's Top Spot
Starting off the list is Perkins-Tryon's Braiton Applegate, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Applegate rushed for 18 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown.
The win was the third in a row for Perkins-Tryon, bringing their record for this year to 5-2. Applegate and Perkins-Tryon will be playing at home against Lone Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

A Season-Best Performance from Max Moore Leads Mannford over Lone Grove
On Thursday, Mannford had to settle for second even though Max Moore put up the best numbers he has all season. Moore rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 222 yards and a touchdown. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023.
Mannford is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. Moore and Mannford will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Seminole at 7:00 p.m. on November 1st.

Cash Matlack Has Career-Day on Thursday
On Thursday, Sulphur got the W thanks in part to Cash Matlack playing the best football he has all season. Matlack rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
The victory was the sixth in a row for Sulphur, bringing their record for this year to 6-1. Matlack and Sulphur will challenge Seminole at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Perkins-Tryon Gets a Boost from Mclemore in 42-30 Victory
The second Perkins-Tryon player making an appearance here is Raiden Mclemore, and for good reason. He rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 55 yards.
This year, Mclemore has run in 8 touchdowns while averaging 84.8 rushing yards per game.

Shaun Hill Makes Top Five
Rounding off our Top Five is Shaun Hill of McLoud. Hill picked up 79 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 78 yards. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 63 yards.
McLoud dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Hill and McLoud will look to defend their home field on Friday against Bristow at 7:00 p.m.
