Community is 5-0 against Grundy County since January of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Community Vikings/Viqueens will be playing in front of their home fans against the Grundy County Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Community focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Monday.
After soaring to 55 points the game before, Community were a bit more limited in their contest. Their rough 48-22 loss to Cannon County might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Community has scored all season.
Anna Haskins was Community's leading scorer, having posted 13 points.
Alyssa White held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds.
Brooklyn Yoes took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Meanwhile, even though Cascade scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, Grundy County still came out on top. Grundy County snuck past Cascade with a 62-58 win. The win was just what Grundy County needed coming off of a 78-27 loss in their prior match.
Community dropped their record down to 8-16 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.7 points per game. As for Grundy County, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.
Everything came up roses for Community against Grundy County in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 60-23 win. With Community ahead 32-11 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
