Wayland Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their 25th straight  defeat. They took  a  3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Madison Country Day. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Madison Country Day this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  2-0  last Saturday.
 The final score came out to 25-9, 25-14, 23-25,  25-8.
 Reina Schroeckenthaler paced Wayland Academy's offense, picking up nine kills. Schroeckenthaler got some help from  Ella Kikkert and her 21 assists.  Ariel Battey controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Wayland Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-27. As for Madison Country Day, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record  this season.
 Wayland Academy and Madison Country Day are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Big Red will take on Dodgeland at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Madison Country Day, after both having extra time off, they and Eastbrook Academy will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
