A District 7 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Jackson County fell 20-19 to Trousdale County in the closest game of the week. Blake Bowman was a bright spot for the Blue Devils, as he ran for 101 yards and caught one passes for 10 yards in the loss.
Ty Jobe and Luke Turner gave Watertown a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Jobe threw for 116 yards and one touchdown, while Turner ran for 110 yards. Brannon Hill also contributed to the rushing game with 70 yards on the ground.
Josh Mee was the best wideout in A District 7 this week as Jackson County fell to the Yellowjackets. Mee tallied five receptions for 93 yards.
Friendship Christian's AJ Long and Hunter Watts have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Long has thrown for 1832 yards this season, while Watts, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 21 catches for 542 yards. Kaelin Cason from Gordonsville leads the league in rushing with 1472 yards.
Going into this week's game against Cascade, the Commanders' Long needs 168 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
The Tigers' Payton Watson needs only 72 yards against South Pittsburg next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 98 carries Watson has accumulated 928 yard this year.
