The French Camp Academy Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight defeat. They were dealt a 73-28 defeat at the hands of Velma Jackson. French Camp Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-9.
Velma Jackson found their leader in underclassman Trevin Willis, who scored 16 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Willis has scored all season. Cornell Bacon was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and five steals.
French Camp Academy dropped their record down to 1-18 with that defeat, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Velma Jackson, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-13.
French Camp Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Velma Jackson won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on February 3rd.
