Chaparral is 8-2 against Great Oak since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Pumas are taking a road trip to challenge the Wolfpack at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
On Tuesday, Chaparral came up short against Temecula Valley and fell 3-1. The Pumas haven't had much luck with the Golden Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
While Chaparral ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-23, 23-25, 25-17.

Despite the loss, Chaparral had strong showings from Shay Roddy, who had 27 digs and three aces, and Olivia Doan, who had nine digs and two aces. Roddy has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maya Raza, who had 18 assists.
Meanwhile, Great Oak also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Vista Murrieta by a score of 3-1. While the Wolfpack didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Broncos 25-16 in the first set.
Great Oak started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 26-24, 25-17, 25-18.
Chaparral will have to contain Jadin Mantiply as she made an impact in Great Oak's last game. She had nine digs and three aces. Tatum Dell also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.
Chaparral's record is now 10-13. As for Great Oak, their record now sits at 7-11.
Everything went Chaparral's way against Great Oak when the teams last played back in September, as Chaparral made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pumas since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
