Baseball Recap: UIC College Prep Triumphs

UIC College Prep was forced to take a big loss against they on Thursday, they got the better of them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Rauner Wildcats by a score of 11-8. This was a revenge game for the Firecats: when they faced off against the Wildcats on Thursday, they had to take a 16-5 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Tristan Pierre, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Jones, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

UIC College Prep's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4-1. As for Rauner, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. UIC College Prep will challenge Noble Street College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Rauner, they will take on Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
