After a string of eight wins, Indianola Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unfortunate 55-24 punch to the gut against St. Joseph. Indianola Academy was in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 42-10.
It might not have been close, but the game didn't lack excitement. St. Joseph's senior Trey Benson penetrated the defense for a 60-yard TD rush in the second quarter. In another great play for the team, junior Kaleb Lockett reined in a touchdown pass for 65 yards in the second quarter.
The defeat dropped the Colonels' record to 10-5. The win for St. Joseph kept them a perfect 13-0. With that, the Division MAIS 3A playoffs come to an end.
