Denmark extended their winning streak to nine on Friday, bumping them up to 20-3. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Freedom Irish. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-3 back in April.
Maggie Frank and Shaelyn Kraschnewski made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Frank pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Kraschnewski pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. At the plate, Frank went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Kraschnewski went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Rebekah Dittmer was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Claire Warpinski was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Denmark hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in nine consecutive games.
As for Freedom, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since May 29, 2025.
On Freedom's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kourtney Moeller, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
Coming up, Denmark will take on Fox Valley Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Freedom, they will challenge Bay Port at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
