The Walhalla Razorbacks will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Pendleton Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Walhalla will be strutting in after a victory while Pendleton will be coming in after a loss.
Walhalla fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Seneca by a score of 28-19 on Friday.
Silas Parish was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.
Meanwhile, Pendleton unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 56-28 loss at the hands of Daniel. While losing is never fun, Pendleton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Daniel is ranked eighth).
Despite the defeat, Pendleton got a solid performance out of Luke Gray, who threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Gray hasn't dropped below 300 passing yards for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Abijah Webb, who picked up 119 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Walhalla's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Pendleton, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.
Walhalla strolled past Pendleton when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a score of 70-55. Will Walhalla repeat their success, or does Pendleton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
