In what's become a running theme this season, the Eaton Reds gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They breezed by Weld Central at home to the tune of 73-24. The victory was nothing new for Eaton as they're now sitting on five straight.
Eaton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tayla Wiedeman, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Wiedeman has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Delaney Reuter, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Despite the defeat, Weld Central had strong showings from Auburn Thoene, who scored eight points, and Isabel Weisenborn, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals. Weisenborn is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.
Eaton pushed their record up to 8-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Weld Central, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Coincidentally, Eaton and Weld Central will both be playing University the next time they take the court. Eaton will head out to face University at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Weld Central will host them at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
