While it was all tied up 19-19 at halftime, the Flushing Raiders were not quite the Frankenmuth Eagles's equal in the second half on Wednesday. Flushing suffered a tough 54-28 defeat at the hands of Frankenmuth. While losing is never fun, Flushing can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while Frankenmuth is ranked 50th).
It was another big night for Mia McLaughlin, who scored 17 points along with four blocks and three steals for Frankenmuth. McLaughlin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Clare Conzelmann was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Flushing's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Frankenmuth, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Flushing and Swartz Creek will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Frankenmuth, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Garber at 5:30 p.m. Garber is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
