Baseball Game Preview: Chazy Eagles vs. Lake Placid Bombers

The Chazy Eagles will head out to square off against the Lake Placid Bombers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Chazy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.8 runs per game this season.

Chazy proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 22) and on Sunday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over Northern Adirondack.

Jack McAuliffe was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. McAuliffe was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Duprey, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Chazy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't).

Meanwhile, Lake Placid had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They put the hurt on the Griffins with a sharp 24-2 win. The Bombers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 14 runs or more this season.

Lake Placid pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Chazy, their record now sits at 7-3.

Chazy was able to grind out a solid victory over Lake Placid in their previous meeting back in April, winning 10-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
