There's no place like home for the Mt. Clemens Battling Bathers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past Voyageur Academy 58-27 at home. That's another feather in the cap for Mt. Clemens, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Mt. Clemens' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Le'ila Sears led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. Sears is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jaidah Williams, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Mt. Clemens' win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Voyageur Academy, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1.
Mt. Clemens will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against University Prep at 5:00 p.m. As for Voyageur Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Lincoln-King Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
