If the Perryville Mustangs were riding high off their 50-24 takedown of the Guy-Perkins Thunderbirds on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Perryville took a 58-39 bruising from Lamar on Tuesday. Perryville lost against Lamar in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 53-45 score last time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lamar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lane Miller, who scored 19 points. Ben Noonan was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Perryville has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Lamar, their win bumped their record up to an identical 3-5.
Perryville will look to defend their home court on Friday against Baptist Prep at 7:30 p.m. Baptist Prep is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Lamar, they will head out on the road to face off against Acorn on Wednesday.
