Ribault has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Raines Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Ribault beat Mandarin 49-43. The win was just what Ribault needed coming off of a 62-36 loss in their prior matchup.
Ribault got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayla Massey out in front who scored 16 points along with six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for Massey. Another player making a difference was Nyeemah Dixon, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, after only 24 points in their last matchup, Raines made sure to put some points up on the board against FAMU DRS on Saturday. Raines simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat FAMU DRS 58-14 at home. With Raines ahead 30-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Ribault's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Raines, they pushed their record up to 5-4 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Ribault was able to grind out a solid victory over Raines when the teams last played back in February, winning 46-35. Will Ribault repeat their success, or does Raines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
