Roberts has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Reed Point/Rapelje Renegades at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Roberts will be strutting in after a win while the Renegades will be coming in after a loss.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Roberts had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They strolled past the Falcons with points to spare, taking the game 62-44. The victory was just what Roberts needed coming off of a 73-49 loss in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Reed Point/Rapelje's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their 13th straight defeat. They fell 43-32 to Absarokee.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ben Broyles, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Axel Blodgett was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five steals.
Roberts' win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Reed Point/Rapelje, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-13.
Roberts didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Renegades when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 47-41 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Roberts since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
