Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends Oak Grove's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Oak Grove unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 48-30 bruising from the Quitman Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Panthers are ranked 29th).

JAHYLA DUBOSE continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Quitman, going 8 of 16 on her way to 21 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of TATIYONNA PITTMAN, who posted seven points along with nine boards and six steals.

Oak Grove now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Quitman, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Grove will head out to square off against Meridian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Quitman, they will venture away from home to face off against Wayne County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Quitman has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
