After soaring high against Winfield-Mt. Union last Friday, Icarus fell to the ground on Friday. English Valleys lost to WACO by a decisive 40-59 margin. If English Valleys were hoping to take revenge for the 0-57 loss against WACO the last time the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
The defeat dropped English Valleys's record to 2-0. The win got WACO back to even at 1-1.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. English Valleys have some extra time to regroup and restrategize before their next game, which is against Tri-County at 7:00 PM in two weeks. As for WACO, they will face off against New London.
