Sagemont has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Bishop Gorman Gaels at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Blanche Ely scored an imposing 63 points on Tuesday, Sagemont still came out on top. Sagemont put the hurt on Blanche Ely with a sharp 83-63 win. Sagemont might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three contests by 20 points or more this season.
Sagemont's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kevin Thomas , who scored 20 points. The matchup was Thomas 's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Patrick Liburd, who scored 22 points.
Meanwhile, Bishop Gorman faced Faith Lutheran in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bishop Gorman came out on top against Faith Lutheran by a score of 70-57 on Saturday. Bishop Gorman's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Sagemont's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.8 points per game. As for Bishop Gorman, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
Sagemont lost to Bishop Gorman on the road by a decisive 60-44 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2015. Can Sagemont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
