The Jimtown Jimmies have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They walked away with a 60-52 win over South Bend Clay on Thursday. For Jimtown, this counts as revenge for the 57-45 loss South Bend Clay walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Jimtown got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dylan Fey out in front who scored 23 points. The game was Fey's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Jackson Clopton was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists.
Despite the defeat, South Bend Clay saw an underclassman step up: Tyrese Jones scored 23 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. The matchup was Jones' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kelin Webster, who scored nine points.
Jimtown is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-6 record this season. As for South Bend Clay, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jimtown will square off against Penn at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. As for South Bend Clay, they will head out on the road to face off against Oregon-Davis at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
