The Somerset Academy Panthers posted their closest  victory yet this season on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Elite Academy out  69-67. The  win made it back-to-back wins for Somerset Academy.
 Somerset Academy was led to victory by  Jahlon Blain and  Anthony Henderson.  Blain  scored 17 points, while  Henderson  scored 17 points along with four  steals. Blain hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was  Johnathan Point du jour, who  scored nine points along with 12  rebounds.
 Somerset Academy has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Elite Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
 Somerset Academy won't have much time to rest: their next  contest is against Chaminade-Madonna at 7:30  p.m.  on January 19th. Chaminade-Madonna is hoping to put an end to  a three-game streak of away losses. As for Elite Academy, they will take on Mater Academy Charter at 6:30  p.m.  on Saturday. Mater Academy Charter will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Elite Academy is ranked 134th).
