The Garrison Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Timpson Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep alive their perfect nine-game seasons.
Garrison can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They blew past San Augustine 58-10 at home. With Garrison ahead 42-10 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Garrison got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Omarion Rasberry out in front who rushed for 150 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Rasberry hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. Javien Black also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Timpson on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Shelbyville out of the water with a 61-0 final score. Timpson pushed the score to 54-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Shelbyville had no chance of recovering from.
Jj Garner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 269 yards and five touchdowns on only eight carries. Garner really tore up the turf during one magnificent 95-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Nickleberry, who rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown.
Garrison's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0. As for Timpson, their win bumped their record up to an identical 9-0.
Garrison came up short against Timpson when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 44-38. Can Garrison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
