Last Thursday, National Cathedral didn't have quite enough to beat Episcopal and fell 3-2. While National Cathedral didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Episcopal 25-13 in the first set.
National Cathedral actually scored more points across those five sets (111-107), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 13-25, 25-21, 26-28, 28-26, 15-11.

Despite the defeat, National Cathedral had strong showings from Dina Leigh, who had 13 assists and six digs, and Kennedy Williams, who had 27 kills, 16 digs, five aces, and two blocks. Williams has been hot, having posted eight or more kills the last eight times she's played.
Meanwhile, Georgetown Day had already won eight in a row and they went ahead and made it nine on Monday. They put the hurt on the Gators with a sharp 3-0 win.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-14, 25-18.
National Cathedral better focus on containing Caycee Chhum and Ella Higday as the pair were huge in Georgetown Day's win. Chhum had three digs and two aces, while Higday had eight digs and three aces. What's more, Chhum racked up 38 assists, the most she's had since back in October of 2024.
National Cathedral's loss dropped their record down to 15-3-1. As for Georgetown Day, their victory bumped their record up to 14-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: National Cathedral hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 5.7 blocks per game. It's a different story for Georgetown Day, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 blocks. Given National Cathedral's sizable advantage in that area, Georgetown Day will need to find a way to close that gap.
