The Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They managed a 37-32 win over Shelbyville on Tuesday. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Franklin Community has scored all season.
Franklin Community got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Scarlett Kimbrell out in front who scored five points along with three steals and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Lauren Klem, who scored nine points along with seven steals.
Shelbyville's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ava Wilson, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals, and Ella Johnson who scored four points along with seven rebounds. Wilson also posted two blocks for the first time this season.
Franklin Community has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. As for Shelbyville, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
Franklin Community will square off against Columbus North at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Columbus North is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season. Shelbyville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
